San Juan Capistrano, CA — The Lady Lions effectively and officially 'won league' today, mathematically eliminating any challengers with a 12 - 6 win over Rosary at home. Should they lose the next 2 matches, the head to head wins over SM would give them that tiebreaker. If Mater Dei upset SM and JSerra, the Lions could conceivably share co-championship with the Monarchs. A win over OLu at home next Tuesday would solve this puzzle for keeps; coupled with a win next Thursday, earns the outright sole championship! Jenna Lee, Taylor BArnes and Kaley Houshmand won 100% of their singles matches today. Other 100 'percenters' today (in doubles) were Lily Sheybani/Alexa Taba, Katy Golbranson/Gabbi Basa and Elise Early/Sophia Moncur/Hailey Moncur. Olivia McHenry lost hard-fought heartbreaker/tiebreaker 6-7 [5-7] in the day's last match as all players and spectators watched. Coach Kirk was able to get 8 subs into today's match vs Rosary, who is a rebuilding year. We will be ready for OLu next week and Mater Dei as well. Bring it on! Go Lions!
