Fullerton, CA — Coming off a win against Life Pacific University, the Royals resumed GSAC play and fell to #12 The Master's University 69-70. The Royals drop to 15-10 overall and 4-9 in conference. At the beginning of the first half the Royals and Mustangs exchanged shot for shot keeping the game within two for the majority of the first half. The Royals were dominant on defense as they forced eight Mustang turnovers that allowed the Royals to score 14 points. The Mustangs went on a 10-0 scoring run late in the first half, but the Royals responded with their own 8-0 scoring run to end the half. The Royals trailed 32-39 going into the half. During the second half, the Royals continued to put pressure on the Mustangs offense, drawing three straight Mustang turnovers in the second half. The Royals outscored the Mustangs 37-31 in the second half but came up short in the end. The Royals allowed the Mustangs to shoot 44% from the floor and 30% from distance throughout the game, while the Royals were held to 39% from the floor and 13% from distance.
