San Juan Capistrano, CA — Coach Kirk received a text earlier in the morning that Jenna Lee was sick and would not be able to play today... then shortly received several woeful texts from team mates with the same info. He quickly dispelled the myth that our undefeated season was in jeopardy and asked that they all spread the good news! [that we would still win]! and he was right! Taylor Barnes defeated Grace McSkimming for the 2nd time this year, then Grace was subbed out, which helped our cause as Mater Dei had severely stacked their doubles teams. Kaley Houshmand swept her 3 singles matches , which helped her earn the #5 seed in the individual tournament next week. The Lions doubles duos all defeated the Monarchs real line 3 team and freshman, Elise Early picked up 2 singles matches for the 10th and 11th points. Senior Day was awesome! We appreciate Carrie Sherbourne, our SID [sports information Director for all her hard work for filming and promoting our team and ALL JSerra Athletics! Coach Kirk especially wants to "Thank all the senior players who have been in our program for 3 and 4 years and their parents and host parents!" The Lions compete in the individual tournament, next Tuesday and Wednesday at SM. "But wait, there's more!" Then the team moves on to the CIF team championships the week after that. The Lions will host a 1st round CIF match Wednesday November 6th! Go Lions!!!
