San Diego, CA — The young Marauders opened up the 2019 season in stellar fashion. The Marauders deferred the opening kickoff and sent the defense out to set the tone for the day. The Grossmont QB made a couple of nice plays with his feet but was eventually shut down by a swarming Marauder defense in the red zone. The Grossmont offense was able to put together two scoring drives in the first half and went into halftime with 14-0 lead... Grossmont came out in the second half and built a 28-0 lead. But the young Marauders never quit mentality kicked in and the Marauders put up two quick scores to make it 28-14. That would be the final score when all was said & done. The boys showed a lot resilience in the second half and Coach Betancourt will build on that this week as we get ready to take on San Marcos Thursday 3:30p at MMHS...
