Recap
Menifee, CA — The Freshman Elsinore Tigers traveled to Menifee, CA and came away with a 35-16 win against the Heritage Patriots. It was a complete team effort shown by Elsinore as they proved to be the better blocking and tackling team.
The offensive line of Jacob Melendez, Zavier Swoffer, Jordan Boyd, Jared De Los Santos, Jeffrey Wigand, and Chris Olson dominated the line of scrimmage, opening plenty of space for the Tigers to outrush the Patriots 268-123.
Not to be outdone, the defensive front of Swoffer, Melendez, Solomon Smith, Akiam Lewis, Gavin Smith, and the comeback kid Darren Willis(who returned after an injury setback) swarmed the Heritage backfield all day, frustrating the usually strong Patriot rushing attack in addition to forcing 2 turnovers. This group demonstrated the courage it takes to defeat a big and strong opponent.
The Tigers will look to stay “committed” to excellence and integrity as they try to stay on an upward trajectory in their football journey, which takes them to Moreno Valley next Thursday to take on the Rancho Verde Mustangs.
