Three Pioneer Titan Pitchers Combine To Defeat Santa Ana Valley In Shutout Game

Santa Ana, CA — Pioneer Titans Varsity defeated Santa Ana Valley 10-0 on Friday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Damon Galindo induced a double-play from Jesus Galvan to finish off the game.
Pioneer Titans Varsity got on the board in the first inning. An error scored one run for PiHi.
Pioneer put up five runs in the fourth inning. The big inning was thanks to singles by Javier Macias and Nathan Ruano, a walk by Xavier Cervantes, and a fielder's choice by Isaiah Montalvo.
A double by Christian Delgado in the first inning was a positive for Santa Ana Valley.
Cervantes was credited with the victory for Pioneer. He allowed five hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out two and walking zero. Galindo and Mikey Amigon entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
The Titans racked up eight hits. Macias and Ruano all managed multiple hits for Pioneer Titans Varsity. Ruano and Macias all had two hits to lead the offense.
Paul Hernandez went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Santa Ana Valley in hits.
