Fountain Valley, CA — Pioneer Titans Varsity stole the lead late and defeated Los Amigos 8-7 on Saturday. The game was tied at six with the Titans batting in the top of the sixth when Damon Galindo doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs. Bats blistered as Pioneer collected ten hits and Los Amigos tallied seven in the high-scoring game. Xavier Cervantes earned the win. He went five innings, allowing three runs on two hits, striking out four and walking zero. Raul Sanchez started the game for Los Amigos. He went seven innings, allowing eight runs on ten hits and striking out nine. Druw Galindo started the game for Pioneer. He went two innings, allowing four runs on five hits and striking out two Pioneer racked up ten hits in the game. Galindo, Cervantes, Galindo, and Matt Zepeda each had multiple hits for Pioneer Titans Varsity. Zepeda, Galindo, Cervantes, and Galindo each collected two hits to lead the offense.
