Vista, CA — Vista Panthers Varsity built a four-run lead in the fourth inning and then held off Ramona's charge for a 6-5 victory on Monday. An early lead helped propel Vista Panthers Varsity to victory. Vista Panthers Varsity scored on a single by Zoe Anastos, a double by Stephanie Lopez, and a single by Felecita Porter in the second inning. After Ramona scored one run in the top of the fourth, Vista Panthers Varsity answered with one of their own. Ramona scored when E Roberts singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run. Vista Panthers Varsity then answered when Emily Rodriguez grounded out, scoring one run. Vista Panthers Varsity pulled away for good with five runs in the second inning. In the second Anastos singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run, Lopez doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs, and Porter singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
