Catonsville, MD — CATONSVILLE, Md. – Lackawanna women's basketball had an excellent second half and pulled away for an impressive 86-46 win against Richard Bland College on Saturday afternoon at the Catonsville Tip-Off Classic at CCBC Catonsville in Maryland. The Falcons (2-0) had four players score in double-figures, and used a 50-point second half to pull away from the Statesmen (0-2). Salote Franklin (Philadelphia, PA) followed up her 30-point outburst the night before with a 17-point performance against Richard Bland, while E'ternity Aiken (Wilkes-Barre, PA) added 15 points, eleven in the second half, and Sophia Summa (Dunmore, PA) pumped in 14, which included 12 in the fourth quarter. Jayla South (Long Pond, PA) added 12 for the winners. Summa's energy was something the Falcons rode in the second half, particularly in the fourth quarter, where she hit a pair of three-pointers to spark a 30-point scoring burst for the Falcons in the final stanza. Lackawanna is now 2-0 for the first time since the pandemic-shortened spring 2021 season, where the Falcons ripped off wins in their first six games. The Falcons get back to work this Tuesday, November 12th, when they travel back to Maryland to take on Montgomery College (MD) in Rockville. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00pm ET.
