New Milford, CT — Masuk High’s football team bounced back from a 21-0 loss to Bunnell of Stratford on Oct. 4 with a convincing 42-7 triumph at New Milford Friday night. The Panthers had to wait an extra week to regroup because of the bye and had no problems en route to their fourth win in five games to start the fall. Aaron Champagne completed 13 of 18 passes for 276 yards and four touchdowns. Gavin Walker rushed nine times for 69 yards and had three receptions for 72 yards and scored a pair of TDs. Nico Convertito scored a touchdown. Max Viglione had catches for 66 yards and a receiving TD, had an 82-yard kick return for a TD, rushed for 52 yards, and racked up 202 all-purpose yards. Shane Walker had five catches for 122 yards and a touchdown. On the defensive side of the ball the Panthers were dominant as Nick Fox compiled 10 tackles, Tariq Al-Hameedi and Jake Viglione both had seven tackles and Daniel Balestriere provided nine tackles to go along with a pair of quarterback sacks. Masuk returns home Friday, Oct. 25, when Bethel visits at 7 p.m.
