Newport Coast, CA — This was a “respectable” loss, as all our players played hard, were polite and very good sports. Every player got to play 3 sets and we had great fan support as always to cheer them on. We picked up 2 wins in the singles draw, 1 each by Flo Michael and Maddie Tran. In the doubles side of the draw, we picked up 4 set wins. Brielle Cobb and Eya Kane got a 6-3 win in round 2. Savannah Parrish and Milan Jepsen won an exciting set in the final round with everybody watching, 6-4. They just missed going 2 for 3 losing a tough tie-breaker 6-8 in round 2 :( MVP honors and kudos to Emily Volk and Emma Withycombe who won 2 sets this afternoon - both tiebreakers!!! 6-5, 6-5. Well done ladies :) Leona DeGeeter was happy with her performance, getting a couple of games, 1 off her friend their # 1 player - healthy attitude. Next up: CRIMSON Squad vs Mater Dei, tomorrow 3pm in Fountain Valley.
