San Juan Capistrano, CA — The Canyon Comanches ambushed the Lions today in a non-league friendly at JSerra; 6-12. It was a great day for tennis and Canyon was nice enough to drive down on a Friday afternoon from Anaheim Hills to play our GOLD squad. The other half of our Frosh team traveled with Keith to San Clemente where they lost by the identical score. KOach Kirk notes, "I some great doubles matches today, 3 tiebreakers, (won two dropped one) AND the other 3 sets we lost were ALL 4-6! This team has really improved! We KOach doubles!" The doubles teams were Eya/Eva, Chloe/Ruthie, Francesca/Josie, who captured 3 sets, 1 set, 1 set respectively Eya and Eva won tiebreakers vs line 2 and 1, before completing the hat trick with a 6-3 victory at line 3. They were very aggressive today, earning them MVPs of the match! Our singles players Aubrey, Lily, Gianna and Bridgette were a little overmatched but fought hard! Lily picked up a handful of games in 3 sets, refusing to get 'bageled'! Aubrey took 3 games off their best player! Bridgette was the only survivor as she picked up a set vs line 3, in round 3 by the score of 6-1! Gianna had a fall and was forced to retire in round 1 and Bridgette subbed in for her. Keith was checking with her parents this evening to find out how she is, prayers would be appreciated. Part of our teams are back in action tomorrow at home! GO LIONS
