Irvine, CA — Despite the lopsided set scores, there was a lot of good effort today in both singles and doubles. Proud of the girls who stepped up to play singles, most for the first time. Crean Lutheran did not sub in any singles players, so our starters and subs all played their 3 best players. We were able to win 2 of 3 sets of doubles in round #1 and in round #2. MVP status today goes to Fiona HUHN who was the only player to win both sets played at line # 1 doubles. She and Gianna Scarcelli (MVP too) won in the first round, and she then partnered in round #2 with MVP Brielle Cobb for her second win. Well done ladies! Eya Kane and Eva Dietrich won opening set, line #2 and earning MVP in the process . Josie Criger and Bridget Oushanayou pick up MVP honors while winning easily in final round: 6-1. We’ll do better when we play them next. Thank you Fiona for filling in today and to Mrs. HUHN for changing plans and driving students to the match. There were a handful of new “parent” faces today, thanks for showing up and driving your own daughters to the match. I think we had more parent fans then they did in attendance!!
