San Juan Capistrano, CA — Tough outing today in our season opener. Our JV Prep / FS team sailed through rough waters but ultimately found ourselves overpowered by the Newport Harbor Sailors. They navigated the game with skill and left us in their wake. We get a return match there in 2 weeks and will do a better job. We, coaches, are proud of the team's effort, the girls' sportsmanship and especially appreciate the fact that all of you stayed to the end of the match, thank you. There were 4 or 5 sets which were lost 4-6 and of course, the exciting, final set of the day with rookies Brielle Cobb and Savannah Parrish forcing a tie-breaker with all team members from both schools looking on. Next up: tomorrow morning at Huntington Beach High School, 9:15 warm-up. Please be there BEFORE 9:30 so Coach Jena can finalize her line-up. Go Lions!
