Manhattan Beach, CA — The East Whittier Trojans traveled to Manhattan Beach to take on the newly formed BCS Stingrays, and boy was it a great showcase with many of your Trojans making big time plays. although this was a scrimmage, the host provided referees and we were were able to play at a beautiful school MiraCosta High School. We even had a very special guest. Jim Harbaugh come out and watch the game because his son played on the other team. The offense took the field first being led by First time quarterback Song with Jeremiah Salas splitting some of the reps for the first series to give our offense several looks that the defense had to prepare for. The offense March down the field being led by a very strong offensive line, Yorba, Navarro, Castro, Rios, A.Flores, well, in the Red zone, Sarah's connected with Saldana for a beautiful play action pass to the corner of the end zone, although was taken back by a holding call. the offense however did not let that affect them by going on the Fourth and goal our offensive coordinator responded with a reverse that had the defense discombobulated and big Neff pounding the rock into the end zone and Two-Point conversion being made by Dinus. The party didn't stop there. our Trojans made sure to put on a show for Jim Harbaugh with multiple long runs being made by Vasquez, Carballo who had multiple explosive plays dashing the defense and finding his was in the endzone, Neff found the endzone twice in the game, Salas making very crucial lead blocks and heartfelt catches being made by Saldana. Our defense stepped up at critical times in order to prevent any type of momentum for the stingrays. this was a very much needed game for a confident booster as The Trojans prepare to play against El Sereno Stallions in our week 1 Opener.
