Goleta, CA — Well it was the best game we’ve played in weeks on offense and we had far less turnovers than we have the past few weeks. This one was a bit less painful knowing we were so outmatched. The Saints are undefeated and have mostly 3rd graders on their team. The other coaches were nice the refs were in to helping some of our confused guys. We played the game with only 13 teammates on the nice cool Saturday morning in Santa Barbara. Our offense was a new simple scheme that coach Mike wrote up this week. We ran 32 plays which was a record (our previous record for plays ran was 18 in week one). Levi had 27 carries for 84 yards on the ground and Dylan ran the rock 12 times for 28 yards on the ground. Theo, Richard, and Cam all recorded a carry as well in the game. We recorded 5 first downs and didn’t loose any fumbles outside of special teams… We made it down to the 3 yard line on our best drive in the 3rd quarter. As soon as all of our teammates play on the same play we’ll learn how to punch it in. Defense wasn’t a big part of our day as they scored at will. Richard had a big pass break up as Levi brought pressure. Towards the end of the game Dylan had a big tackle for loss and the next play he squared up and made a solid tackle while Joseph came in to finish the play stripping the ball and recovering the fumble. The small wins give us hope. We ended our day with a “We love football” cheer, we sang happy birthday to Jack, and then had cupcakes. The boys had a great weekend.
