Santa Ana, CA — SAC Women's Soccer scored early and often in their 3-1 win over Compton College (2-3-1) on Tuesday afternoon. The Dons got on the board in the fifth minute when Brianna Mejia found the ball in a crowd and booted it past the diving Compton goalkeeper. Just over two minutes later, Vida Mendoza scored her first goal of the season after Tiffany Rodriguez put a corner kick in a perfect spot for a header. Compton made it a game as Anahi Rodriguez crossed a ball outside of the box to the far side of the Don goal, cutting the lead to one in the 34th minute of action. But the Dons stayed the course and continued to play good soccer. They benefited from that and scored once more when Rodriguez sent a rocket over the goalkeeper's outstretched arms in the 44th minute. Leilani Rodarte was credited with the assist for her second of the day. The score would remain the same for the entire second half, giving SAC their first win of the season.
