Dana Point, CA — The Dolphins were no match for the Lions this afternoon, as JSerra used all the team members from squads S and A to soundly defeat Dana Hills on their home courts. We “swept” singles, winning all 9 sets played. Kinsley Moore, Dylan Henderson and Sam McCulloch won ez first round sets and then “sub’d” out to let teammates get more action. Our 2nd line of singles players, earning MVP honors for the day, all won both sets played. Congrats to Caitlyn Davidson, Gianna Gancar, and Sydney Shaw. One of T3Tennis’ students from years past, Therese, captained Dana’s team and at line 1 doubles, won all 3 of her sets….We managed to get 4 of 6 set victories in dubs. Congrats to Riley Godber, MVP today winning both of her sets played; one with Arina Wagner, the other with Jessica Jenkins. Emma Doss partnered with Ariana Gonzalez to win an opening round set at line #3, well done. Isabella Aftabi and Rowan Johnston fought hard at line 1 doubles and picked up our 4th set in the final round of play; also had a great effort in a TB loss after fighting back from a 2-5 deficit. Thank you for not giving up. Most team members, with the exception of starting 3 singles players, got to play 2 full sets of tennis today. Coach Jena came to support and noticed marked improvement in everyone’s level of play. Next up: Monday, Sept. 9th at El Toro.
