JV back on win track, clip Eagles’ wings 13-5 to complete first round of Trinity League play.
San Juan Capistrano, CA — JV tennis team ended first round of Trinity League play with a solid win over visiting Santa Margarita this afternoon 13-5, resulting in a 2-1 record.
We had a pretty balanced attack, winning 6 of 9 singles sets and 7 of 9 doubles sets. 3 perfect “lines” earned MVP honors today, winning all 3 sets played.
Line #1 Singles: Dylan Henderson and Line #2 Doubles: Kate Layk, Isabella Aftabi and Caitlyn Davidson. Caitlyn played all 3 sets, Kate opened vs their top team and then Isabella won 2 more sets with Caitlyn. Great job ladies.
Additional MVP honors to Christina Nama and Sydney Shaw who won 100% - both sets played against their top 2 teams, before bowing out.
Riley Godber and Arina Wagner went 2 for 3 in dubs today, defeating Eagles #3 and #1 teams, great job this afternoon.
Kinsley Moore defeated their strongest player 6-2 in the opening round and picked up an additional win in the 3rd round. Sam McCulloch won at line 1 in the opening round. Good outing by all, well played.
Round 2 starts this Thursday vs Orange Lutheran at Anaheim Tennis Center, 2:30 pm.
