Rancho Santa Margarita, CA — SM is a tough place to win, JSerra has done it before but was not as fortunate today. The Lions were able to pick up 3 sets in both singles and doubles. Scarlett, Brookelyn and Ava all ganged up on SM's#3 player 6-3, 6-0, 6-3 respectively. Doubles picked up 3 sets as well, BUT two of those wins were by Isabella and Naomi who had a fantastic tiebreaker win over SM's #2 win after easily disposing of the Eagles#3 team. The tiebreaker set was hard-fought and intense, but the Lions opened up a huge can of spinach for a 7-1 tiebreak drubbing, as both teams and fans watched. Ellie and Juliana added the 3rd doubles set with a 6-4 win over Eagles #3. The Eagles are definitely in the catbird seat this year, no one has come close to them, but the 2nd round of the shortened league season will begin Thursday vs. OLu at home. Go Lions!
