Swiftwater, PA — The Avengers started their day with a semi-finals match up with a strong Baseball U team. The team was led by Tanner Karwacki with 3 hits and scoring led by Dom Ruggeri’s 4 RBI. Karwacki and Ruggeri also combined their powers on the mound to get the win and advance to the Championship game surrendering just 3 runs on 6 hits. The Chip was a matchup against Warpath, the old regime of Baseball U Anthracite who have had Avengers number beating Avengers three previous times in Championship games going back to 13U Fall. Avengers struggled to put anything together offensively accept in the 4th inning walked Danny Fries and Nolan Wampler would get back to back hits scoring the only 2 runs on the day. The pitching staff worked in a solid platoon effort but again, when the bats go cold, they go ice cold for The Avengers. They look to continue to take steps in the right direction as they close out their Summer 2024 at Sports at the Beach next weekend. This season has proved to have been a huge leap forward in the success of the team.
