Swiftwater, PA — Avengers ended Pool Play on Saturday 1-1 but outstanding pitching kept the tie breaker of runs against low enough to secure a first round bye and the number two seed. Avengers took it to the Hitmen at the plate scoring 10 runs while Brooks Weatherhold locked it down on the mound pitching a complete game shut out. The second game of the day had some local rivalry feel to it with the boys of Line Drive Elite. Now the Avengers were 11-0 with matchups against other Lehigh Valley teams since 12U when Coach Andrews took the team. But any team, on any day, can win and The Avengers forgot to bring their bats to the box only mustering 3 hits in the loss. Rylee Fehr and Jake Santiago pitched well but it’s tuff to win games when your offense only gets 3 hits.
