Walnut, CA — Your Sonora Raiders (0-2) traveled to Walnut High School on Friday night, in a pre-season contest against the host Mustangs (2-0). The Raider run game, featuring senior running back Anthony Abad, was firing on all cylinders as the Raiders amassed 354 rushing yard in the 42-6 victory over the Mustangs. Abad finished the night with 195 rushing yards on 18 carries, and 5 rushing touchdowns. Junior Alexsay Nazaroff rushed for 110 yards on 4 carries, and added a touchdown as well. The Raiders defense swarmed the ball all night, holding Walnut to under 200 yards of offense while tallying 4 sacks and 2 tackles for loss. Junior CB Isaac Torres added an interception for the Raiders. Sonora (1-2, 0-0) travels to Redlands East Valley (0-3) for a 7PM kickoff this upcoming Friday night. We hope to see you there!
