Sunday Grind
The Avengers came into Sunday with a 2-0 Pool Play record and the number two seed but the bracket layout did them zero favors. Their first match up was a well coached Flood City team. The battle would last 8 innings in a back a forth battle. Avengers found themselves down 4 runs in the fourth before they found their stride, scoring 6 runs in their half of the inning. Flood City would take the lead in the 6th inning to go up 8-6 followed with a counter punch by Avengers the the bottom half of the inning that tied the game at 8. That score held till the top of the 8th when Flood City took a 9-8 lead before Jake Santiago walked it off to advance Avengers to a semifinal matchup with The SCO.
