Norco, CA — By GameChanger Media Sunday's game against Glendora 14u All-Stars was a heartbreaker for '24 CORONA All-Stars 14U, as they lost the lead late in a 7-5 defeat at Parmenter Park. The game was tied at five in the bottom of the fourth when a passed ball scored two runs. '24 CORONA All-Stars 14U lost despite out-hitting Glendora 14u All-Stars 11 to four. Penny Tolossa, Rylee Diersing, and Samantha Romo each collected two hits for '24 CORONA All-Stars 14U. '24 CORONA All-Stars 14U opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two doubles. '24 CORONA All-Stars 14U first got on the board when Diersing doubled, scoring one run. Sophia Lawernce doubled, which helped Glendora 14u All-Stars tie the game at two in the bottom of the first. In the top of the third, '24 CORONA All-Stars 14U broke up the tie when Diersing singled, scoring one run. Then a tag up by Tolossa followed to extend the lead to 4-2. Glendora 14u All-Stars captured the lead, 5-4, in the bottom of the third when Lyla Heredia doubled, scoring one run, and an error scored two runs. Madison Dahl singled, which helped '24 CORONA All-Stars 14U tie the game at five in the top of the fourth. Mackenzie Collins earned the win for Glendora 14u All-Stars. The right-handed pitcher allowed 11 hits and five runs (four earned) over five innings, striking out four and walking none. Dahl took the loss for '24 CORONA All-Stars 14U. The starting pitcher went two and two-thirds innings, giving up five runs (two earned) on three hits, striking out none and walking four. '24 CORONA All-Stars 14U collected 11 hits in the game. Diersing and DeMia Swanson !! were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for '24 CORONA All-Stars 14U. Lawernce provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Glendora 14u All-Stars with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-2 on the day. Heredia, Lilly Taylor, Andrea Acosta, and Lawernce each collected one hit for Glendora 14u All-Stars. Glendora 14u All-Stars had a strong eye at the plate, tallying six walks for the game.
