Tallahassee, FL — The Delaware Valley football team lost their week one game 35-7, to Lincoln high school. The game was played at the Austin Tindall sports complex in Osceola Florida. Sophomore James Dabney scored the only touchdown for the warriors which was a pass from senior Logan Olsommer. “This game does not define who we are as a team,” head coach Keith Olsommer said. “We will keep our heads up and continue to move forward,” The warriors struggled early on in the week due to heavy storms, which also caused their Friday game to be pushed to Saturday. Because of this weather, the warriors were only able to practice for two and a half days. During the game, Delaware Valley suffered from a penalty which resulted in an ejection for Delaware Valley. “They were a really good team who had great work up front,” senior Pasquale Venetucci said. While the team was juggling sickness, rain delays and mental struggles, the warriors worked throughout the entire game as a team. “We are going to watch film and use it to improve on our skills and technique in further weeks,” junior Mike Iuzzolino said. The warriors will take on Jersey Shore Area for their week two game on August 26.
