West Bend, WI — Trailing 2-1, the Spartans rapped six hits in a seven-run fourth inning and added four in the fifth on a two-run double by Ava Thelen and game-ending two-run homer by Paige Guse. West had 16 hits in the game. Mia Buske was 3-for-4 with a single, double and triple in the leadoff spot. Guse was 3-for-4 with four runs batted in and Riley Weber was 3-for 3. Lindsay Sandleback, Breleigh Ustruck and Karissa Jenz each had two hits. Ustruck opened the fourth inning with a single and capped it with an RBI single. Sandleback allowed just five hits and struck out three to notch the win in the circle. The Spartans improved to 23-4 on the season with the regional championship victory.
