Highland Falls, NY — In a thrilling Section IX finals matchup, Pine Bush upset #1 seed Valley Central with a 10-8 victory, securing their first section title since 2006! After falling behind 4-0 midway through the first quarter, the team staged an impressive comeback, displaying remarkable heart and determination. Sam Budney led the charge, igniting the rally with three crucial goals. Mackenzie Brown and Fiona Varley each added two goals, while Sophia Licardi, Katie Cragan, and Lillian Atria contributed one goal apiece to round out the balanced offensive effort. On the defensive end, Leah Meberg, Alle Pierpoint, Kate Harris, and Julia Tanner shut down Valley Central’s attack. Anchoring the defense was goalkeeper Grace Grant, whose 10 saves were pivotal in maintaining the lead.
