Great 1st Tournament Experience for the Timberwolves
Connecticut Timberwolves 5, Monarch 10U 17
Middlefield, CT — The Timberwolves took the 6 seed at The Mayhem Madness 10u Tournament this weekend with a 1-2 record. They lost their game today.
It was a tough weekend for the girls against some very tough competition. It was a great experience and the girls had fun.

Ariyah and Zoey did our pitching and totaled 20 strike outs between them. They faced some tough hitters but kept throwing strikes. They rarely walked batters and never let the pressure phase them. Leigha and Nina did our catching and did a great job managing drop third situations and throw downs. This was no easy task either deep backstops, tall grass, and muddy conditions.

Offensively, Ariyah led the Twolves in hits with Zoey and Nina tied for 2nd. Ava led us in walks with Mia G and Lainey coming 2nd. Zoey led in RBIs; our other runs were scored independently. Ariyah, Nina, and Ellie tied for the lead in batting average with Zoey coming in 2nd. Ariyah and Zoey led in doubles with Leigha behind them. Nina had our only triple. Ellie led the team in on base percentage with Nina in 2nd. On base and slugging percentage was led by Nina with Zoey in 2nd.

On the base paths, Mia G led the team in stolen bases for the weekend; Lainey was just behind her. Nina and Ariyah shared the lead in runs; Lainey and Summer tied for 2nd.

Defensively, Ellie stood out making some great stops, great throws, and leading the way at SS and CF. Lainey, Zoey, Ariyah, and Tessa all also made some great plays to get us out of innings. Nina, Ariyah, Leigha, and Zoey all shared first base duties and did a fantastic job.
Next weekend we go to Stamford to play a tough Red team in a non league matchup. We then take on Westport for 2 at home on Sunday towards league standings, where we currently rank second.
