Du Quoin, IL — Harrisburg, IL — Link to original Sports Central Coverage: https://bit.ly/3AUUaLF DU QUOIN — After dropping their season opener last week at home against Chester, along with dealing with several injuries, the deck seemed stacked against the Du Quoin Indians as they welcomed Harrisburg in week two–the Bulldogs coming off a blowout win over Anna-Jonesboro in the opener. Junior quarterback Johnathan Brown ran for a touchdown and threw a pair of fourth quarter TDs to Jayden Davis to lead the Indians to a 28-14 win over the Bulldogs. Du Quoin led 7-6 after one quarter and 14-6 at the half. The lead was still 14-6 early in the fourth when Brown and Davis connected for an 11-yard score for a 21-6 Indians’ lead. After a Harrisburg fumble, Brown found Davis on a slant that turned into an 82-yard pass and run for the clinching score. Both teams are 1-1 on the season, and both will be on the road next week. The Indians will travel to Herrin, while the Bulldogs will make the trek back to Perry County to face Pinckneyville.
