Herrin, IL — In a game in which the Tigers battled back down four runs, clutch hitting by Jersey Summers and Branson Hill helped propel the Tigers to a 7-6 victory over the Waltonville Spartans! Heading into the bottom of the fifth down 6-3, Herrin's Branson Hill delivered a massive double into left-center field (narrowly missing a 3-run homerun by inches), scoring both Zoey Linton and Jersey Summers to cut the Spartans' lead to one. Still down 1 heading into the bottom of the sixth inning, the scene was set. Herrin's leadoff batter, Zoey Linton, would double with two outs to bring Jersey Summers to the plate. After drawing a 3-2 count, Jersey smashed a two-run moon shot over the right-center field fence to put the Tigers in the lead for good! Not to be outdone at the plate, Herrin's Remy James finished the game 2-2 with 3 RBI and one walk on the day.
