South El Monte, CA — South Pasadena Frosh/Soph Tigers snatched the lead late in their 6-5 victory over South El Monte Freshman Eagles on Wednesday. The game was tied at five in the top of the seventh when A Hernandez singled, scoring one run. The Tigers rallied for the victory despite trailing 4-0 in the fourth. In the top of the seventh inning, the Tigers went back into the lead after Kory How tripled, Nathan Bernhardt-Kim singled, and Hernandez singled, each scoring one run. Ishan Trachtenberg began the game for the Tigers. The starting pitcher gave up four hits and five runs (one earned) over six innings, striking out three and walking three. How threw one inning of no-run ball for the Tigers in relief. The righty surrendered one hit, striking out none and walking one. The Tigers accumulated nine hits in the game.
