Celebrating w a Giant Cinnamon Roll “cake”
Aliso Viejo, CA — Thanks for the late birthday present guys - a win!
And the Cake from the Castro family. Thank you all!
After losing the first round 2-4, our boys fought back to win the next 2 rounds 4-2 each for an outright win 10-8 sets.
Zach Moncur had our only tie-breaker win in a back and forth singles set which brought the whole match to a 6-6 tie, with most of the 3rd round sets under way.
Soon it was 7-7 and a bit later, it was 8-8 with only 2 remaining sets. Then it was 9-8 with only Jack Straub left playing singles - he won 6-1 and gave us the 10-8 margin of victory. (We would have won on game count had we tied 9-9 anyway.)
In a balance attack today, JSerra doubles finally matched the singles players, both getting 5 sets wins. We dominated their line 3 doubles team with 3 straight wins against that pair of Wolverines.
In addition to those mentioned w our MVP doubles players, Gianni Rossetti and Robbie Watson also won a doubles set, 1 of only 2 we got in round 1.
Brayden Castro picked up a set win in round 3, which out us at the 8-8 tie. Good job today.
Next up: Friday, March 22nd at Portola, 2:30pm.
