Irvine, CA — In a rare night game, our JV squad traveled to northeast Irvine and played under the lights at Crean Lutheran, coming away with a well-earned victory 11-7. There was a good crowd of spectators representing both schools, thank you JSerra parents for your continued support. Both doubles and singles performed well, we picked up 6 of 9 singles sets and 5 of 9 doubles gets. Leading the doubles today was the trio of Michael Aceves and Alex Gibson and Jacob Le Brun, undefeated at line #2 doubles. Each played 2 sets, 1 with each of the others - each earning MVP honors in doing so. Johnny Tavares and Lucas Johnson defeated their #3 team, 6-2, in round 3 to give us our 11th set win. Lucas with Enzo Biundo came back from 0-4, winning 5 straight games, but allowed a tie-breaker which cost them the set in a brilliant comeback. Logan Lebsack and Luke lost a tough 3rd round tie-breaker after opening up the match with a 6-4 win at line #3. MVP in singles, kudos to the 3 people who won 100% of sets played: HB Warner and Robert Thornton, both 2 for 2, and Sam Gou - winning an exciting come from behind victory 6-5. This gave us our 10th set win and deciding factor. Kayden Kral picked up a additional set in round #2. Next up: this Thursday, March 7th, home vs Aliso Niguel, 2:30pm.
