Rancho Santa Margarita, CA — Wow! EPIC comeback, 24 hours after Lions baseball does same thing in their house! Round 1 recap: Lions down 3 sets to 2, Mikey and Alex down 3-5 at line 2 dubs...fight off couple set points climb back up to 6-5 lead, all other players watching! Mikey's serving, ad in, throws up a 'gimmee', SM player literally could touch the net, but does something geometrically impossible, parks the ball in the bottom of the net!!! 3-3 after one. Round two we do not perform well, Geffre and Marco pick up a win along with Riley. BUT, Cole Carlson is down 3-5 vs line 2 , fights back to 5all, before losing a great set , 5-7.... this was very important... Round 3, down 5-7 but, the math and match ups in this round look promising. We need a small miracle, which came in the form of COLE ! SM's singles lineup was stronger than our first match, but this did not phase Cole in the least! Getting down 3-4 in this deciding set, Cole sweeps the last 3 games for a 6-4 victory, giving the Lions their 9th set! Our boys had done the math work, and at this point, JSerra had enough games for a victory, EVEN if Riley loses 0-6 , to SM's top player (which did not happen, Riley did drop the set, but, 5-7... This was a GREAT DAY in Lion Tennis history as JV also defeats SM, both teams securing Trinity League Champions and maybe even both undefeated! Gotta tell you again; our parents and fans are over the top! We appreciate ALL of you and think this win may not have happened without the support we had at this match. GO LIONS
