Aliso Viejo, CA — April 18, 2024 On one of our few clear and sunny days this spring, Marina High School's boys' varsity golf team emerged victorious in a Wave League match against Laguna Beach High School. Played over nine holes on April 18, 2024, at Aliso Viejo Country Club, Marina secured a notable win with a score of 188 to Laguna Beach's 208. The Aliso Viejo Country Club provided a stunning backdrop for the intense competition, with its lush fairways and undulating greens offering a challenging test for both teams. Leading the charge for Marina was Diesel Roman, who delivered a stellar performance to earn the title of match medalist with an impressive one-under-par score of 34. On the opposing side, Russell Franconi-Krychman led the charge for Laguna Beach, posting a commendable score of 40. Overall, Laguna's team played well with team scores coming from Kiyan Arshadi 41, Joshua Bellisime 41, Luke Bo 41, and Evan Kretschmer 45. Despite Laguna Beach's best efforts, Marina's collective effort play proved too strong with all of Marina's players shooting under 40 on the day.
