Huntington Beach, CA — April 11, 2024 In a display of golfing prowess, Huntington Beach High School's boys' varsity golf team breezed to a win over Laguna Beach High School in a non-league match played on April 11, 2024. Hosted at The Huntington Club golf course in Huntington Beach, California, Huntington Beach showcased why they are considered one of the top teams in the county, securing a victory with a score of 187 to Laguna Beach's 225. The Huntington Club golf course proved to be too much of a home course advantage for the Oilers with all their players shooting under 40, demonstrating their depth of talent. Leading the charge for Huntington Beach was Garrett Arenat, who earned the title of match medalist with an outstanding two-under-par score of 34. On the Laguna Beach side, freshman Joshua Bellisime showcased his future potential with a commendable round, posting a score of 41 to lead the Breakers. Right behind him, sophomore Kiyan Arshadi 42 and senior Russell Franconi-Krychman 43, also had good days on the course. Evan Kretschmer 47 and Hudson Mills 52 rounded out the scoring for Laguna. While Laguna Beach dropped the contest, the Breaker's players continue to improve on their individual and team scores from last year and the match should undoubtedly serve as a source of motivation for both teams as they progress through the high school golf season.
