San Diego, CA — The Escondido Cougar wrestling team had an early season league dual meet at Westview High School. The JV team got the night started with a 24-15 victory. Big pins were recorded by Oliver Barron, Diego Rangel, Wyatt Greco and Diego Garcia. The Varsity got off to a quick start, jumping out to an early 33-4 lead. Thanks to Eric Aguilar, Nikki Cuevas, Yael Perez, Ezra Munoz, and Liam Baker each earning 6 team points. Westview then closed the gap to just 2 as the Cougars lead 33-31 after the 192lb match. The victory was sealed Friday Pollard at 217lb as he recorded a 1st period pin. The final score after Devin Woodshank went out for the forfeit victory, EHS 43 - WVHS 31.
