Buena Park, CA — On a very wet Southern California evening, Foothill took on Buena Park on their home field. The Knights were favored but no one told the Coyotes. Buena Park opened up the scoring on a counter attack in the 4th minute when Foothill's back line gave up the ball in a precarious position. Credit goes to Buena Park's striker, for finishing a left footed golazo in the upper left corner from 25 yards out. The first half ended 0-1 with Foothill and Buena Park having an equal number of dangerous chances. The wet conditions did nothing to improve the Knights favor as the second half started. Foothill went down 0-2 right after the second half whistle. Foothill's defense were slow to press attackers in our own defensive third. The Knights did not give up and 4 minutes later in the 45th, Lucas Regan finished a rebound of a keeper's save of a scorching strike from Matthew Mendoza. Regan found the back of the net 4 minutes later on a header sent in by Quinn Frye off a free kick. Jacob Garcia scored the go ahead goal in the 64th minute. After receiving the ball from Tyler Reid, Garcia slotted the bottom left corner after beating 2 defenders. The final goal was the culmination of a true team effort. Kevin Ambrocio scored off his own rebound after receiving a cross from Garrett Zehner. Check it out here: http://www.hudl.com/v/2MZsyC I'm proud of the boys and their willingness to fight.
