Recap
"No, Rod, this picture doesn't come close to telling this story."
San Juan Capistrano, CA — "We had a group of ladies that BATTLED in this match. The girls fought right up to the last ball
despite missing some key pieces. I am very proud of our competitiveness, sportsmanship and character. We never were or FELT like we were out of this match, at all." KOach Kirk noted.
Earlier in the year, Huntington Beach visited us and dealt the Lions a 12 - 6 loss. The Oilers top 2 girls, sisters gave up only 2 games, while adding 36 to their talley. This was so lopsided, a 9-9 gamecount tiebreaker was not going to be kind, so the girls knew we needed to pick up four of the last 6 sets played.
Some of these notes are in the MVP section, but, doubles teams were awesome today; Ellie/Naomi, Olivia/Neeka and Stewy with Bella , then Julia. Hailey Klein also had great win at line #3 in the first round.
So, the sunsets on this 23-24 campaign as 8 teams move on to the quarter finals of CIF and JSerra will rebuild and be back next year.
Thank you, Keith and Jena for your dedication, insight, and coaching prowess.
Thank you parents for your contineud support of this team.
Thank you ladies for your grit and character, especially in these playoffs.
