Recap
Denver, CO — Our Lion Cub (JV) played with great heart and battled to the final seconds of the game. We had many players playing their first game ever and other having to step in and play positions they are never played before. For example, Kai Durica had never played a down of QB for a tackle football game before and he played his heart out. The Nelson brothers (Brodie & Bailey) are from Australia and just learning the game in its entirety.
As frustrating as our game ended on Thursday night, I was encouraged and excited about the way we played Saturday morning. The other side had way more experience, but we fought hard and never gave up! Ryder Griggs even tried to play with a broken hand and Michael Poche finished the game with an aggravated shoulder he injured earlier in the year.
At this level we’re learning, not only how to play football, but how to compete as a scholastic athlete. How to be team players and what it’s going to take to get better every day ( WEIGHT ROOM). Every sub- varsity player must fall in love with weight training. The earlier the better! Watch their body’s completely transform over the next 3 years. This health and wellness they can do for life! Football has a finite window, but strong body, strong mind… When young men start taking pride in their bodies, they end up having more courage and confidence in everything they do.. It’s like magic dust!
