Merrill, OR — A hard loss for the team, the Challenger ladies struggled to control the game and pass through the lanes. Lost River was able to find two moments of breakaways that were successfully blocked by defenders and our goalkeeper, but ultimately they were put into the back of the net as the ball couldn't get cleared or possessed by the Challengers. Josie Scaglione had an incredible day in goal saving shot after shot. On one occasion Josie's positioning was so perfect she was able to jump high enough to catch a shot heading into the top corner. Even the Live commentator announcer at Lost River gave praise to our keeper for her "golden glove". We recognized the significance of being a Challenger in that game, knowing that the conflict we faced is a competition that can make us grow. To be a Challenger is to be honorable and give it your all as you face adversity, and we will move forward from here being our best selves.
