Westfield, IN — In a sold-out environment full of scouts and four-year college coaches, the Stars got on the board in the bottom of the second inning after Evan Mendoza doubled and Alec Cutter grounded out, each scoring runs. Kankakee tied the game up in the top of the third, and the game remained tied until the bottom of the fourth when an error by Kankakee gave Lansing a 3-2 lead. Eventually, Kankakee would score the tying run in the sixth inning to make it 3-3. Because this was a showcase-style format, Lansing would end the game tied with Kankakee in the seventh. Drew Nurenberg started the game and allowed one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out three. Even Mendoza led the hitting with two. Kevin Davis, Alec Cutter, and Brek Baranoski each had one. Braden LaRusso pitched 2.0 innings striking out three. Christian Arquette pitched 2.0 innings striking out three.
