Lansing, MI — It came down to the wire on Sunday at Kircher Municipal Field, as Lansing grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 7-6, over Mid-Michigan. The game was tied at six in the bottom of the seventh when Evan Mendoza singled, scoring one run. Lansing came back to win despite trailing 6-2 in the sixth. A ground out by Mendoza LCC on the board in the bottom of the first. Alec Cutter homered to left field, which helped Lansing tie the game at two in the bottom of the second. Mid-Michigan took the lead in the top of the third. #32 doubled, scoring one run, to give Mid-Michigan the lead, 3-2. LCC tied the game in the bottom of the sixth thanks to a single by Dylan Nguyen and a home run to center field by Kevin Davis. Drew Nurenberg stepped on the mound first and surrendered three hits and two runs over two innings, striking out two and walking one. #2 opened the game for Mid-Michigan. They gave up five hits and six runs over six innings, striking out seven and walking four. Braden LaRusso pitched one inning of scoreless ball for Lansing in relief. The righty surrendered zero hits, striking out one and walking none. Number seven-hitter Cutter showed the depth of the lineup by leading them with two hits in three at-bats. Davis went 1-for-3 at the plate as the right-handed hitter led the team with three runs batted in.
