Rancho Santa Margarita, CA — A bit warm, but playable. We got off to a slow start, dropping the first round 2-4, which was the score for the 2 subsequent rounds as well. Playing a regular format: 9 singles sets with 9 doubles sets, JSerra doubles fared a bit better in dubs, winning 4 while singles won only 2. Kudos and MVP honors to Flo Michael, who picked up both those single set wins, both tie-breaker wins! Well done. MVP honors also to Lauren Harkins and Jessica Jenkins. They too won 2 tie-breaker sets…. Long ones: 11-9 and 14-12. A lot of defending set points made for an exciting match. Anybody who beats a Santa Margarita person or team is tops in our book….so MVP honors also go to the doubles team of Ella Dietrich and Emma Doss who won 6-3 in round 3, and Josie Andersen with Milan Jepsen, who won 6-2 in round #3 as well. JSerra won 4 of the 6 tie-breaker sets this afternoon, which is a good sign. Thanks for the extra effort in the close sets. A big shout out to Ella’s mom Mrs. Dietrich who saved the day by buying out the store when we needed nourishment and liquids. THANK YOU!
