San Juan Capistrano, CA — A lesson better learned now rather than in league play or worse, in CIF playoffs later on when playing varsity. I’m proud of our team though….we played everybody who showed up, 14 players. Pretty sure that LBHS Coach Pete held off and rotated no subs into the fracas, thereby preserving his victory. We had a balanced attack, winning 4 singles sets and 5 doubles. MVP honors go out to those winning 2 sets played: Alex Marsh (singles) + Christina Nama, Kinsley Moore, Riley Godber, Arina Wagner (doubles) and to anyone who won the only set they played: Maddy Valente (doubles) and Mary Murphy (singles). Additional set wins by Elliana Castro (doubles) and GG Fernandez, who was 1 tie-breaker away from defeating their top player in a very close set…helped get us to the 9 sets won. Next up: Monday, Sept. 11th vs El Toro, 3pm at JSerra.
