Tonganoxie, KS — I'd say tonight's loss stings a little bit. The boys came out flat tonight and we found ourselves down 1-0 at halftime. The boys had moments where they moved the ball quickly to teammates and were fluid with their passing. We just need to string together some more passes in the final 3rd and take advantage of space to take shots or to play teammates into the box. Jackson McWilliams came up with some big saves for us tonight. Early in the game Topeka was able to connect on a cross and Jackson made a great reaction save. Lachlan McRae played well tonight again. Being an anchor for us in the middle and dominant in the midfield. Carter Watson showed up tonight and put his best game in so far this season. He flourished playing up top on the wing and showed us some great flashes of the player he's becoming. Another Sophomore was able to get some minutes tonight, Isaiah Manus. He was great at the defensive mid role and really showed some great field vision in setting up passes and was great on the defensive side of the ball. He showed that he needs more minutes on the varsity to keep wowing the coaching staff and finding space for him on the field. Overall we came out flat today and finished flat. We continue to work on moving the ball around other teams and continue to improve. Currently Tuesdays haven't been our best games, but Thursdays the guys seem to bring it. They will need everything they have as they take on Baldwin Thursday @ Baldwin at 4:00. Varsity will get a rare first game before JV takes the field. This means that everyone will be at my disposal to play on the field.
