La Verne, CA — The short handed Charter Oak boys varsity basketball team battled from down 11 to take the lead late in the fourth quarter, but their efforts fell short in the final two minutes versus Bonita High on Saturday. The final score was 61-45. The Chargers were led by Chase Evans who had a game high 29 points to lead all scorers. Reuben Carrillo had nine points as well. CO returns to league play Wednesday night on the road versus West Covina High.
