Jackson, NJ — Sophia LoPiccolo pitched a five-hit shutout as top-seeded Jackson Memorial downed eighth-seeded Toms River East, 10-0, in the quarterfinals of the Ocean County Tournament at the Jackson Adventure Complex. With the win, Jackson will face fourth-seeded Southern in the semifinals. LoPiccolo struck out three in the contest and singled, walked, stole a base, drove in a run, and scored at the plate. Alexandra Santos was 3-for-3 with an RBI and three runs and Emily Hersh and Gianna Vollaro each had two RBI on the day. Nina Striano also went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI for Jackson.
