Hazleton, PA — The Easton Rovers JV picked up a big road 'W' against the Cougars of Hazleton in the last game of the season. The win was the 15th of the season for Easton JV who capped off a 15-5 campaign. The JV Rovers weathered a scare by Hazleton Area in the third inning where Easton coughed up three runs, but the Rovers still won 14-5 on Saturday. In the first inning, Easton Area Rovers JV got their offense started when Nicholas Chieffo drew a walk, scoring one run. Easton would score six in the first frame to take the lead which would hold the rest of the game. Zach Mattes was the winning pitcher for Easton Area Rovers JV. The ace lasted four innings, allowing nine hits and five runs while striking out four. Chase Kinney and Zach Wagner entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Easton Area Rovers JV saw the ball well today, racking up 13 hits in the game. Mason Stout, Braden White, A.J. Sonsini, and Rowan Tom all collected multiple hits for Easton Area Rovers JV.
